ANNEXE 2 - CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
- The event will be run in accordance with an Event Management Plan agreed with all Responsible Authorities in advance of the event taking place.
- Sidyfest will implement robust security and management protocols to prevent crime
- and disorder at the event:
- Professional Security Staff:
- Employ licensed SIA security personnel to monitor entry, patrol the site, and respond to incidents.
- Position security at key points such as entrances, the bar area, and near the stage.
- Entry and Prohibited Items:
- Operate controlled access points with ticket scanning and bag searches to prevent prohibited items, including drugs, weapons, and alcohol from being brought in.
- Alcohol Management:
- Bar staff will receive training in responsible alcohol service, ensuring intoxicated individuals are refused further service.
- A Challenge 25 policy will be enforced at all points of alcohol sale.
- CCTV and Monitoring:
- Install CCTV cameras to monitor high-traffic areas and record incidents for use in investigations if required.
- Maintain constant communication between security, staff, and event management via radios.
- Incident Reporting:
- Use a dedicated incident log to document any occurrences of antisocial behaviour or criminal activity, ensuring follow-up and reporting to the authorities as needed.
- Police Liaison:
- Maintain regular contact with local police before and during the event to ensure a coordinated response to any criminal incidents.
Public Safety
- Sidyfest will prioritise the safety of all attendees, staff, and performers through:
- Risk Assessment and Compliance:
- A comprehensive event risk assessment will identify hazards, and control measures will be put in place to address them.
- All electrical equipment and staging will be checked for safety and certified where necessary.
- Capacity Management:
- Attendance will be strictly limited to the site’s maximum capacity, monitored through pre-sold tickets and controlled access.
- Security will count attendees at each entry point to prevent overcrowding.
- Emergency Planning:
- Develop a clear emergency plan covering evacuation procedures, severe weather contingencies, and medical emergencies.
- Employ trained marshals to assist with evacuations and crowd control.
- Medical Facilities:
- Provide a dedicated first aid station staffed by qualified medical personnel to address injuries or illnesses.
- Fire Safety:
- Ensure fire extinguishers are placed strategically, and all temporary structures meet fire safety standards.

- To minimise disruption to local residents and businesses, Sidyfest will:
- Noise Management:
- Work with a professional sound engineer to monitor and control sound levels, ensuring compliance with agreed limits.
The prevention of Public Nuisance
- Position speakers to reduce sound travel toward residential areas and implement directional sound systems if needed.
- Cease amplified music by 11:00 PM to avoid late-night noise disturbances.
- Traffic and Parking Management:
- Develop a traffic management plan in coordination with the local council, including temporary signage and marshals to direct vehicles.
- Restrict on-site parking to staff and performers, encouraging attendees to use public transport or a dedicated shuttle service.
- Waste Management:
- Provide adequate bins throughout the site to encourage proper disposal of waste.
- Employ a cleaning team to ensure the venue and surrounding areas are left clean after the event.
- Community Engagement:
- Notify local residents and businesses of the event details well in advance, including contact information for complaints during the event.
- Set up a hotline to handle noise or nuisance complaints in real time and take immediate corrective action where necessary.
The Protection of Children from Harm
- Sidyfest recognises the importance of safeguarding children and will take steps to ensure their protection:
- Family-Friendly Zones:
- Provide designated family-friendly areas with appropriate activities for children, staffed by trained personnel.
- Safeguarding Training:
- All staff will receive training in child protection, including recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Lost Child Procedure:
- Establish a clearly marked lost child point, staffed by DBS-checked personnel, to reunite lost children with their parents or guardians safely.
- Announcements about lost children will be made discreetly to avoid undue attention.
- Alcohol Restrictions:
- Enforce a strict Challenge 25 policy to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors.
- Use wristbands or another form of identification to differentiate between over-18 and under-18 attendees.
- Restricted Areas:
- Clearly mark and monitor areas unsuitable for children, such as bars, smoking areas, and backstage zones.
